Need to Know Information
Rogersville is in the RED division. Our schedule is set by our division color. Please be aware of that when looking for locations in the official convention schedule.
This year Stephanie Lee is coordinating the food for our hospitality room. If you can help, please let her know.
When to be there??
Girls K-2nd grade bible reading starts at 2:00. Boys K-2nd grade bible reading starts at 3:00. Please come support these young ones if you can!
All available 3rd grade puppet team members will need to meet at 2:30pm in the Presidential Lobby (where the food is). Please be at Bayou A before 2:45pm to support the 3rd grade puppet team.
All available 8th grade puppet team members will need to meet at 4:30pm in the Presidential Lobby (where the food is). Please be at Bayou B before 4:45pm to support the 8th grade puppet team.
There is an Adult Orientation meeting from 10:00 – 11:00am Friday morning that all adults are encouraged to attend if possible.
Brock and I will be our hotel coordinators this year.
Thursday Check-ins: Please let us know when you arrive at the hotel so that we can get you your room keys. Please do not expect to check-in before 3:00pm.
Friday Check-ins: For those checking in on Friday, it is always a challenge to get keys and get them distributed. As usual, we will get the room keys when all Friday check-in rooms are ready for our group. Please do not go and request your room keys at the front desk as this creates confusion. We will be monitoring the board where groups are notified that rooms are ready. When our keys are ready, one of us will meet you in our hospitality room. We will disseminate this information by text message. Please do not expect to check-in before 3:00pm.
Check-out is at 11:00am and late check-out requests will not be granted as other groups will be checking in. If you are checking out on Saturday, please keep this in mind and plan accordingly.
Please check the attached room list to be sure that the nights you are staying are correct as well as the room type (double/king). If there are any issues please let me know asap. Changes might be able to be made now, but once we’re in Nashville they will be near impossible.
Fortunately, Lauderdale County schools are out on Good Friday this year. In the event that school is in session for a weather make up day, letters will be sent to LCHS and Lexington to request an excused absence for all students attending the convention.
Schedules and judging assignments will be given out Wednesday April 5th.
All medals will be in our registration packet that will be picked up at group registration. This includes: Know the Books and Good Samaritan.
Schedules and year books
Like last year, we will receive pocket-sized schedules for each attendee and two Convention Yearbooks. The pocket-sized schedule will contain maps, schedules, event room assignments and social media information. The Convention Yearbook includes information from all six convention sites. Each congregation will receive two copies so that they may be displayed and shared. A complete listing of all participants in Centurion of Scripture, GIFTS, Good Samaritan, GUARD, Junior Leader I&II, Keepers, Know the Books and Read the Word are listed.
There will not be an iPhone or Android convention app this year, but there will be a mobile website option through a site called Sched. Since Sched is a website, it will require either cellular data or a wifi connection. You can set up a free Sched account and create your own custom schedule for just the events you plan to attend
To access the mobile schedules, go to www.lads2leaders2017.sched.com on a web browser on your phone, tablet or computer. There will be a menu option to the top left that will allow you to sort out your specific location and/or color, as well as other functions, such as creating your own custom schedule. The schedules will be live by the first of the week leading up to convention.
Parade of Leaders
We need to decide on two students to be part of the Parade of Leaders. This should be seen as a privilege and honor. Please take a moment to look over the list of participants. Please circle two names as your votes and explain why you have selected each child. The two selected will have the honor of carrying the church banner at the opening awards ceremony on Friday night.
